Green bonds issuance growth and green finance market expansion has been driven by increased transparency and standardization policy initiatives such as the EU Taxonomy and market initiatives such as ICMA Green Bond Principles. €213.39bn of green bonds were issued as of mid-year 2021 compared to €34.14b over the entire year in 2015.
