Eva Heiskanen

Professor

Prof. Eva Heiskanen is a professor in Sustainable Consumption at the Centre for Consumer Society Research at the University of Helsinki. She has worked on energy and environmental issues in consumer and organization studies since 1991. She has served as WP leader in earlier FP projects and coordinated the FP7 project CHANGING BEHAVIOUR dealing with the success of energy-saving programmes and projects. She has published more than 80 peer-reviewed articles on sustainable consumption, social science energy research, user involvement in innovation, and the societal conditions for sustainability innovation. Currently, she investigated sustainable energy transitions and the role of users, local experimentation and the development of competencies in the energy transition, as well as leading a national project on everyday life tensions in the energy transition.
